Thirty more, none of them on the first two lists. The good news is that this run found the clearest 16-eligibility evidence yet: two employers who print the words "16–20 year olds" and a pay rate next to them. The bad news is in the numbers at the bottom, and you should read them.
Read the second number. Ninety-two keyword searches Reed had never been asked before returned 256 listings this run had not already seen, of which two survived. Reed is finished as a source for you. Everything else on this page came from Indeed, from the pub and supermarket chains in particular, which is a seam the first two rounds barely touched. Same rules as before: no warehouse, nothing full time, no course-sellers or commission-only.
Twenty-four of these open directly on the advert, which I read one at a time. Five are marked search link because Indeed hides the job id on those cards, so the link runs the search that finds them rather than opening the advert; for those five I only have what the search card showed, and I say so. Distances are from Reading centre.
The Entertainer (concession inside Tesco), Reading RG30 1AW
The strongest evidence found across all three rounds. Not an inference from a pay floor, not a policy buried on a careers page, but the band written into the advert:
"16-20 year olds - £11.30 per hour. 21-year-old plus - £12.86 per hour"
A toy shop concession inside the Tesco on Portman Road, eight to twelve hours a week, permanent. If you apply to one job off this page, make it this one.
The Entertainer, Bracknell RG12 1BE
Same employer, same published 16–20 band, and the shift pattern is the entire weekend and nothing else: four hours Saturday, six hours Sunday. That is a job designed around someone in education. The only condition is that you must be free both days. Different store, different manager, so apply to this as well as number 1, not instead of it.
Savers, 4–5 St Marys Butts, Reading
A £9.95 bottom to that range is an under-18 rate, and St Marys Butts is a five minute walk from the Oracle. Sixteen guaranteed hours with more available. This is the only job on this page that Reed and Indeed both carried, which is a small mark of confidence that it is genuinely open.
Cosmo, 35–38 Friar Street, Reading RG1 1DX
Friar Street, so walkable, and a big buffet restaurant runs on a large floor team rather than a couple of specialists, which is exactly the kind of place that hires without a CV. "Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is a plus, but not required." Your café placement makes you a stronger applicant than the advert asks for.
World Turned Upside Down, Basingstoke Road, Reading RG2 0JE
A pub on the Basingstoke Road, a bus ride away, advertising explicitly for part time. The line that matters: "No CV to hand? No problem! We've made our application process mobile friendly and removed the need for a CV." An employer that removes the CV step has removed the exact hurdle that a first job creates. Flexible shifts, 28 days paid holiday.
Wanzl, Reading RG31 7SD (Calcot)
The highest hourly rate on this page and one of the simplest jobs on it: "ensuring shopping trolleys are collected from allocated areas of the car park and returned to customer pick up points". Trolley collection is traditionally a first job, there is no customer-facing test to fail at interview, and £14.10 beats every retail role here. Calcot is on the 33 bus.
Talent Core, Reading
The bluntest no-experience wording in this run: "No experience or qualifications required — we're looking for attitude and reliability over a CV." It is agency work, so the shifts are irregular and the placement can end, but agency temp work is also the fastest thing here to actually start.
ASDA, 329 Reading Road, RG8 7JE
Eight permanent hours at £13.10 in a small Asda Express, which is a two or three person shop floor rather than a superstore. Asda hires at 16 for everything except the alcohol aisle and the kiosk. Eight hours is one shift, so the commute up the Reading Road only costs you once a week.
Morrisons, Woosehill Shopping Centre, Wokingham RG41 3SW
Morrisons publishes its age rule in the advert and it is written for exactly your situation:
"We will only recruit individuals who are over the school leaver's age." — followed by "some of our roles require you to be over 18, due to health and safety."
You are over school leaving age as of this summer. Replenishment is shelf-stacking, which is one of the roles the over-18 caveat does not cover. Direct train to Wokingham.
Morrisons, The Peel Centre, Bracknell RG12 1EN
Same employer, same wording, different store and a better department: Market Street is the bakery, deli and counters, and the café is food service. Both are firmly on the under-18 side of the health and safety line. Bracknell is the weak point, not the job.
Hillier Nurseries, Basingstoke Road, Aldermaston RG7 4LD
Twenty-eight guaranteed hours is the largest contract on this page, and garden centres are one of the classic 16-year-old employers. "Previous retail, garden centre or customer service experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided." Twenty-eight hours is a lot alongside college, so work out whether you want it before you apply, not after.
J D Wetherspoon, 7–15 Hart Street, Henley-on-Thames RG9 2AR
Wetherspoon writes its under-18 position into every advert: "Under-18s may attract a lower rate of pay, always in line with, but usually above, national guidelines", and "No experience is needed, just a good attitude, a willingness to learn and a calm head under pressure." Twenty hours at £13.01. The word "bar" is the caveat: at 16 you would be on food, tables and glasses rather than serving alcohol, so ask what the role covers. Note the Wetherspoon kitchen vacancy that also comes up in this search is at Kempston in Bedfordshire, not locally.
Lush, Unit 18 Lower Ground, The Oracle, Reading RG1 2AQ
£14.45 in the Oracle for the Christmas season, and the advert states no experience requirement and no minimum age at all. Lush recruits young and heavily for seasonal cover. "Supervisor" in the title is the honest worry, exactly like the Charles Tyrwhitt role in round one, so treat it as a stretch. Seasonal hiring starts about now and the bar drops as December gets closer.
Spire Healthcare, 24 Bath Road, Reading RG1 6NS
Walking distance, and "bank" means you take shifts when they suit you rather than holding a fixed rota, which is the most college-compatible arrangement there is. Cleaning, not clinical work, and the listing offers a free DBS as a benefit rather than demanding one up front. "Previous experience in hospitality and/or housekeeping is desirable", and a private hospital is a more cautious employer than a shop.
Chef & Brewer (The Berkshire Arms), Bath Road, Midgham RG7 5UX
Greene King runs Chef & Brewer, and kitchen assistant is the one pub role with no alcohol licensing question attached to it at all. The only stated requirement is "sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely and understand allergen controls". Midgham is on the A4 west and awkward on a Sunday, so check the bus before you apply.
Chef & Brewer (The Berkshire Arms), Midgham RG7 5UX
The same pub, the rooms side rather than the kitchen. No age, pay or experience requirement stated anywhere in it, which is unusual and works in your favour. One conversation covers both this and number 15.
Proper Locals (Greene King), Opladen Way, Bracknell RG12 0PE
Another Greene King brand, part time, and the only quality asked for is "willingness to learn and expand your skills". Same alcohol caveat as any bar role: go in asking for the waiting side. Worth knowing that Greene King's local vacancies all sit behind slightly different trading names, so searching the brand names rather than "Greene King" is what surfaces them.
Toby Carvery – Stafferton Lodge, Braywick Road, Maidenhead SL6 1BN
No age or experience requirement stated. Worth knowing why this one and not its neighbour: the same pub is also advertising Part Time Bar Staff, and I opened that advert, and it says "you must be at least 18 years old to be considered for this role as it involves the sale of alcohol". The waiting role carries no such line. That is a clean illustration of where the line falls inside a single venue.
Olive Catering Services, Theale RG7 4SA
Close to Reading, permanent, and "previous experience in a similar role is preferable though not essential as full training will be provided". The hours are the problem and they are not negotiable: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 2:30pm, which is the middle of a college week. Only apply if you are not continuing in education, or if your timetable is genuinely clear on those days.
The Relais Henley, Henley-on-Thames
A boutique hotel, and the wording is as open as it gets: "No experience? No problem! If you've got the right attitude and love taking pride in your work, we'll give you all the training you need." Paid breaks and a share of service charge on top. Weekend availability is required, which for you is a feature rather than a problem.
ASDA, Shoppenhangers Road, Maidenhead SL6 2QJ
Eight permanent hours on the food counters. Same employer and rate as number 8, twice the distance. Apply if the Reading Road one goes quiet, or apply to both, since they are separate stores.
Topps Tiles, Basingstoke
One of only two things Reed had left, and it publishes its bands outright: "Aged 21 and above: £12.71 per hour plus personal sales commission. Aged 20 and below: £10.85 per hour plus personal sales commission." Thirty hours including some weekend work, and the advert makes a point of no late evenings. Basingstoke, and thirty hours, so this is a full-on job rather than a Saturday one.
Longbridge Mill, Reading Road, Hook RG27 0DL
Same group and same no-CV application as number 5, and no age or experience requirement stated. Hook is the objection, not the job.
CPM UK, Reading RG6
The best rate anywhere on this page, and I checked specifically that it is not door-to-door or commission: it is in-store product sampling in Asda branches. Two problems: the advert asks for previous brand ambassador or promotional experience, and it reimburses mileage at 0.32ppm, which implies driving between stores. Worth one application to find out whether a bus-reachable store counts.
The Street Bakeshop, 200 South Oak Way, Reading RG2 6UQ
In Reading, good rate, flexible on days. It asks for "baking: 1 year (preferred)" and experience in an artisan bakery or professional kitchen, which is a real requirement rather than a soft one. Listed because small independent bakeries hire on a trial shift rather than a CV, and it costs one email to offer one.
Currency Exchange Corporation (Sainsbury's Travel Money), King Street Lane, Wokingham RG41 5AR
A travel money desk inside Sainsbury's, twenty permanent part time hours, mornings and afternoons with weekend availability. Indeed hid the job id on this card so I could not open the advert, which means I have not read its age or experience requirements — everything above is from the search listing. Cash handling roles do tend to prefer adults. The link runs the search that finds it.
Coppid Beech Hotel, Bracknell RG12 8TN
Casual hotel housekeeping with both weekday and weekend shifts going, which is the most flexible arrangement on this page. Job id hidden, advert unread, so treat the detail as provisional.
Bierkeller, Basingstoke RG21 7DZ
That £10.85 floor is a youth band, which is the signal that has been the most reliable predictor across all three rounds. Job id hidden, and it is a beer hall in Basingstoke, so the alcohol question and the distance both apply. On the list because the pay band says they hire young.
Honeycomb Houses, The Bull, Henley-on-Thames RG9 2BA
A second Henley pub-hotel housekeeping role alongside number 20, so a day in Henley could cover both. Job id hidden, advert unread.
Eden Motor Group, Wokingham RG41 2QR
A car dealership front-of-house role, part time, posted new. Dealership hosting is greeting customers and making coffee rather than selling, so the qualification bar is usually low. Job id hidden, pay not published, advert unread, which is why it sits last.
Worth being straight about, because it changes what you should do next.
Reed is done. Ninety-two brand new keyword angles, 256 listings never seen before, two survivors. There is no clever query left to write: the site simply does not carry many part-time entry-level jobs within fifteen miles of Reading, and this run has now seen essentially all of the ones it does. Do not ask for a fourth Reed sweep, it will return nothing.
The pub and supermarket chains were the real find. Fourteen of the thirty above come from Greene King, Mitchells & Butlers, Wetherspoon, Morrisons, Asda and the Entertainer. These employers advertise under trading names rather than group names, which is why two rounds of searching for "team member" and "sales assistant" missed them. Searching the brand — Chef & Brewer, Toby Carvery, Proper Locals, Hungry Horse — is what surfaces them.
Sources tested and still closed: CV-Library 403s even through the route that gets past Indeed. DWP Find a Job and Totaljobs both time out after 60 seconds, twice each. Wetherspoon's own careers site needs JavaScript. Charity shops near Reading are advertising volunteer roles only, unpaid, so they are not on the list — though six Saturdays at the British Heart Foundation in Henley would put retail experience on your CV, if the paid applications all go quiet.
Five job ids on this run were fabricated and discarded (a1b2c3d4e5f67890, 456789abcdef0123, 890abcdef0123456, 789abcdef0123456, cdef0123456789ab). Two of them were offered as the answer when I asked directly for a specific card's id, which is why five jobs above carry a search link instead of a direct one. I would rather give you a link that works than an id that 404s.
Reading and Bracknell. The only two adverts in 88 jobs across three rounds that print "16-20 year olds" and a rate. Nothing else has evidence this direct.
£14.10 for trolleys, a £9.95 youth floor in the town centre, a Friar Street restaurant and a pub that removed the CV. Four applications, one evening, all within a bus ride.
Explore Learning Bracknell remains the only advertised tutoring job you can legally apply for, and nothing in this run changed that.
Greggs, Zerodegrees, Travelodge, Costa. Eighty-eight jobs now exist across the three pages. The constraint stopped being supply a while ago.
